A type of X-ray that uses digital sensors instead of photographic film The image captured is converted to digital data immediately and is available for review within seconds.
The Digital X-Ray facility, At ZAINA Diagnostic Centre provides immediate processing and the ability to digitally transfer and enhance images. This allows applications in all routine X-rays as well as specialised imaging studies such as IVP.
The advantages of capturing and storing X-Ray Images digitally rather than on film are overwhelming. Digital x-ray imaging has many advantages:
- The images can be stored in a very compact manner without risk of loss or deterioration in quality.
- The images can be easily enlarged and “suspicious” areas of an image can be more easily studied
